I love straightened hair. Im tired of braids. I've been wearing braids ever since a was 2 and i'm 13. Besides you start to look like a boy.

Well, I'm sorry and realize that it may be hard to take care of. I never realized that until I was watching a video about it. I don't understand why anyone would give you a hard time about your natural hair, but there's a lot of ignorant people. I've gotten crap for plenty of things too. I guess the key is to do your own thing and ignore the ignoramouses.

That's right, you don't have black hair, so you will never know how hard it can be to take care of it. Some women feel pressured to do this 'cause there's still alot of ignorant fools out there that give 'em shit for wearing natural styles.

Does one have to only be interested in their own culture? Wow, that would be pretty boring. Are you serious?
HotMamaThang (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Thanks for the tips. My mother have always used to straightening comb on us. I need to buy us another one and an electric one at that.

Well, if you don't have African-American why are you on here? That is very easy for you to say. shut up!

you aren't offending me. You are only stating how you feel. I feel the same way too. I don't chemical or straighten my hair...it's nice and naturally curly, and that's the way I like it! lol (it's great that you want to understand too)!
kathryn120 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Because I am trying to understand it. I understand wanting to change something about oneself. I don't understand taking extreme measures to do that. I personally like African American hair and don't know why you would want to change it. Sorry if I offended.
