The absolute basic fundamentals to taking care of Afro Natural hair.I mentioned http://QhemetBiologics.com 's Amla & Olive Oil Heavy Cream Vegetable GlycerinInstead of using a microwave to warm up shea butter or olive oil try warming up in on the stove at a low heat. As a commenter reminded me, heat changes the molecular structure of most things. If you are really concerened about this try putting your product to be warmed in a glass and placing that glass in a pot of warm water. This will melt or warm your product at a slower pace which helps keep most of its molecules in tact.

How often should I shampoo and condition my hair?

caramelsister71the dryness is a product issue. If your "moisturizing" product doesn't moisturize your hair then you need to try something else. Sleeping with a silk/rayon scarf should be something you should do anyways. Twists can hold really well for the first day however depending on how well the product takes to the hair then it can leave varying results. You can braid them every night if you want maintain the look. Consider changing product and protecting the hair at night.

Help!!! I have 4b hair, I have tried twist out they look good the first day but then they are dry and frizzy.... What can I do? Am I supposed to braid them every night or can I just put a bonnet on my head and go to bed. I used kera care products/curly buttercreme.

I am natural and I was wondering what can I do to stop the HEAVY shedding that I am experiencing

That happens to me too. I use olive oil and leave-in conditioner after I wash and it makes my hair soft.
