Are you losing hair? Finding a
cure for it but do you know the cause of it? How can you treat a symptom
without knowing the cause? There are a number of ways to prevent hair loss.
Start by improving your dietary intake. Incorporate the essential elements
required by your hair to be healthy and strong.
Before going in for a cure, know the cause for the
hair loss.
There are numerous factors effecting hairfall. At
times small changes in the diet or environment may lead to hair loss. It is
important to identify the actual reason before opting for a hair loss remedy
rather than doing it the other way round.
The most common cause for hair loss is anemia.
Anemia can be caused due to dieting resulting in drastic weight loss, or
excessive fasting. Other general causes can be hormonal imbalance, liver
disfunctioning, excessive body heat, and side effects of some medicines; severe
infection, high fever, flu, which require strong medications to cure. Hair loss
can also be a result as side effects of intensive treatments like radiotherapy,
chemotherapy, T>B., antibiotics and long term use of pain killers.
There can be other causes too like dandruff, low
blood circulation to the scalp, stress, pollution, exposure to sun, excess
alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, chemical treatments done like perming or
straightening; excessive sweating (which causes a lot of damage to hair
follicles), using the wrong shampoo etc. lack of iron and protein intake too
lead to hair fall.
These factors result in dull, lifeless hair, or
even retarded (slowed) hair growth.
Don't take hair fall casually. Before selecting the
treatment, identify the cause and if required consult a qualified hair expert
in case of excessive hair loss. By doing so, you will be able to arrest hair
fall at the right time with the right care. Remember: it is natural to lose
20-100 hairs a day.
Your diet should include green leafy vegetables,
soyabean, curd, carrots, sprouts, lentils, milk, fish, meat, cheese, seafood, nuts
and cereals. These provide the necessary protein, minerals, vitamins required
to keep your hair lustrous and healthy. Any nutritional deficiencies can lead
to thinning hair or even total baldness.
Protein: hair consists primarily of protein. It
makes the hair stronger and prevents it from breakage and split ends.
Minerals: iron is required to carry oxygen to the
hair follicles while zinc prevents hair loss. Copper improves your natural
color of hair.
Vitamins: while Vitamin A keeps the scalp healthy;
Vitamin B and C are required for hair color and hair growth.
Also ensure you have a lot of water and adequate
amount of exercise too. Exercising will help improve bloody flow to the scalp
and help in hair growth. Water forms 1/4th part of a hair strand
weight. So if you want supple and soft hair, drink loads of water.
Your hair reflects your overall condition of your
body. If your body is well nourished , you will have lovely soft shiny hair. So
identify the cause and treat it in time with the right product and be a proud
owner of lovely hair.
